Free hosting eg. geocities / wordpress / blogger VS Subdomain

You may ask, what's the different between geocities and blogger and subdomain from users like u (wishix) ?

Let me explain for you.

Geocities
Have you tried using geocities and feels that the uploading part is so irritating? Usually the files you upload won't refresh and shows immediately? Links will messed up and pictures always fails to shows? And the worst part is the advertisment which keeps appearing on the right hand side, blocking most of your contents?

With subdomains, you can have your own ftp account, where you just need to drag and drop your files into the server. It will not take more then 1mins for your pages to be updated and shown on the internet. Although you may be asked to put a banner on your homepage, BUT it will definitely not be as big as those in geocities and will definitely fit nicely on your website.


What about wordpress and blogger?

You can still publish from blogspot and wordpress, but with your own hosting server, when you publish, you get to keep your html pages, meaning, if 1 day blogspot went down, it will not affect your blog at all!! All it changes is your blog address. Perharps from jessica.blogspot.com to jessica.wishix.com. Also you can upload your pictures and music into your own server instead of finding free hosting from photobucket!
